Since we are having our Annual Day on the 17th, this month, we are concentrating on the preparations and practicing for the same. Oct 2015 is proving to be a very busy month. on 24th, the immediate weekend after the Annual Day, we have IAN's Rhythms, and a week later Lalitha Kala Mandali's drama on Mahishasura Mardini.
I am starting a new batch (Batch 4) this Vijaya Dashami ( 22nd Oct at 6:30pm), so if any one is interested, this is the right time to come and join.
I shall resume my schedule once we enter November. But, just to give you an idea about what is the plan after Annual Day looks like,
1) The alaripu batch (Batch 2) will practice and perfect "Bhagyada Lakshmi". We intend to present it for Hindu Temple's Diwali celebrations. We also want to work on a very unique presentation on Lakshmi. We also want to perfect some adavus.
2) Batch 1 will start another unique item we have been discussing since an year. We want this to be ready for the Hindu Temple's Diwali celebrations too, but lets see..... It will be a Jatiswaram, Kauthuvam, Pushpanjali and then a Tillana thru 2016 for these kids. This much is fixed.
4) For the Batch 3 kids, we want to start Vinayaka Kauthuvam. This has some combination of adavus (steps) that they have already learnt. We want to learn some new adavus and adavu combinations.
I want to thank each one of you parents for taking so much trouble, doing so much hardwork, and putting so much effort in cultivating interest in your child to learn and perform classical dance. Its no mean thing. And that you all trust me to teach your kids is very humbling.
Thank you
